Learning outcomes:
- How to cascade an outcome to a goal
The process itself is simple, its very similar to creating a goal.
Goals can be cascaded from the Outcome editor by clicking the cascade outcome button.
Or from the goal detail page where you will see the cascade outcome button next to each outcome.
Click the cascade button to start the process.
The new goal will have the same title as the outcome it relates to, it will be scheduled for the same period of time as the outcomes goal, the status and function will also mirror the outcomes goal, and the new goal will be nested in the outcomes goal.
The next step is to update the new goal's title. Goals should be qualitative, significant, concrete, action-orientated, and inspirational. They should define the team's mission, the aspirational finish line.
You also need to update the assignee of the new goal. start typing the persons name and when it appears in the list click it then click the save button.
The owner of the outcome will be added as a collaborator on the new goal.
If the new owner is a Member of more than 1 team, you will need to select which team the goal relates to. So always update the owner, then review the team the team field. If the new owner is only a member of 1 team, the team field will no be visible.
Hit save to create the new goal.
If you're cascading an outcome to a goal from the goal detail page, the new goal will appear in the Goal stream panel once created.
