Allocate a leadership license to a team member
There are a few ways to allocate a leadership license to a team member on the platform.
As a partner, when you sign up a business to the platform, you can select the type of organisation as leadership. All users created during the sign up process will be allocated a leadership license.
If you need to assisng a leadership license to a user outside of the sign up process, in the admin center, when you add a new user, or update an existing user you can allocate a leadership license.
In the admin center, choose Team Members. If you're adding a new user, click the add user button, if you're updating an existing team member, click the edit button in line with the person's name.
In the add/edit user screen, you can specify a leadership license for the person under license type. Or, if you are allocating another license, such as a business license, goals, or essentials, you can also add a leadership license by toggling the add a leadership license to yes, then click save.
An alternate method to allocate a leadership license to an existing platform user is in the diagnostic section of the admin center. In the admin center, click diagnostics then leadership. The opening screen displays the team members that already have a leadership license. Click assign leadership licenses to team members in the top right corner.
In the next screen, you will see the list of the people from the organisation that are on the platform. The check box will be checked next to those that have a leadership license. To add a licensed to a user, check the check box. When you have added leadership licenses to the appropriate people, click save.
Leadership diagnostics are not triggered automatically. They need to be manually issued from the admin center. Only partners and those with the admin profile can issue leadership diagnostics.
How to issue a leadership diagnostic
In the admin center, click diagnostics then leadership. The opening screen displays the team members that already have a leadership license. If you need to allocate more leadership licenses, click assign leadership licenses to team members in the top right corner (see above).
To issue a diagnostic, click the new diagnostic button next to the leaders' name. You will then get an on-screen notification confirming the diagnostics have been issued. You can only issue a diagnostic to 1 person at a time.
A new screen will open that allows you to select whether you (advisor) will invite participants to complete a diagnostic about the leader as part of a 360 review, or whether the leader (diagnosee) will invite participants to complete the diagnostic about them.
Add participants for a 360 review.
There are a few important points to note about adding participants for a 360 review:
- You can invite participants from inside or outside of the organisation;
- Participants do not need to be licensed platform users;
- The same participant can diagnose multiple leaders but will need to be added to each diagnostic separately;
- You can add as many participants per diagnostic as you like, but we recommend no more than 5;
- Agree who will invite participants to the diagnostic - advisor or diagnosee;
- If participants are added by the advisor or account administrator, the leader cannot add further participants;
- If the diagnosee is sending the invites, this process will be completed after they have completed the diagnostic for themselves.
How an advisor or admin can invite participants to review the leader
After clicking new diagnostic from the leadership screen in the admin center, click the toggle to advisor. There will now be the option to add participants. Click the add participants button.
Add participants by filling out their details and then clicking add participant. Repeat this process as many times as is needed. If you add a participant in error, you can remove them by clicking the delete button in line with their name.
NB. If you can't see a participant's email in the list on the right, they have not been added. If the participant's details appear in the input fields, click the add participant button.
When you have added all the participants you want, click, send invite. This will send an email to each participant inviting them to complete the diagnostic to review the leader.
You will then get an on-screen notification confirming the email invites have been sent.
Participants added to the diagnostic will be visible under participants for 360 review.
If you need to add further participants, click add participants button again and repeat the steps above. Participants that have been sent an invite to the diagnostic cannot be deleted from the diagnostic.
Once you have added participants, click done.
If you click done and need to check which participants have been added to a diagnostic, click the leader's name.
You can now see the list of leadership diagnostics issued to this person and who were the participants in the diagnostic. If you need to add further participants, click the add participants button.
How the leader/diagnosee can invite participants to review them
If it is up to the leader/diagnosee to send invites to people to participate in the leadership review, after clicking new diagnostic, leave the toggle on diagnosee and click send.
A green tick will appear where the send button was to confirm the invite has been sent to the diagnosee.
Once the leader/diagnosee has completed the diagnostic, they will be asked to invite people to complete the diagnostic about them for a 360 leadership review. The process to add participants is the same as above.
Check the progress of a diagnostic
From the leadership diagnostic home page, clicking a person's name will display a list of their leadership diagnostics. You can see the list of participants related to each diagnostic, and how many participants have completed the diagnostic.
By clicking the title of a diagnostic, you can view the list of participants, and whether they have completed their review.
If a participant has not completed their review, you can send them a reminder email by clicking the send button or remove them from the diagnostic by clicking the delete button. And if you need to add a participant, click the add participant button.
