What does the diagnostic score tell you?
A diagnostic score represents the clarity and maturity an organisation exhibits as a result of the diagnostic. It is expressed as a percentage score and plotted on the leadership curve.
Summary of what you will find in the diagnostic module
We've written an article dedicated to the diagnostic module, but to summarise...
The organsiation page displays the overall scores for a diagnostic and is calculated as the average score across the 6 functions. The total score and the skills and systems score is the average of the same scores across the 6 business functions. The growth mindset is the average growth mindset displayed across the 6 business functions.
Within the diagnostic module there is a page for aach business function and displays the diagnostic data associated with the function. The scores on these pages represents the clarity and maturity of the business in a particular function.
The Organisation page and how to use it
The organisation page is similar to the other diagnostics pages. You can filter the diagnostic data and post on the diagnostic channel. It shows the overall scores and growth mindset. The total score and skills and systems scores of clarity and maturity are displayed on the interactive leadership curve.
Your organisation score is the whole of business score representing the average level clarity and maturity within your organisation, across the business functions. It is not comprised of activities like the business functions, it is comprised of the business functions' scores. Because of this the leadership curve displays far less data, but it does define the stages of maturity up the curve as demonstrated below. These definitions are displayed by rolling the mouse over each stage of maturity.
Beneath the Experience Curve are 2 charts, Skills & Systems and Functions for Focus.
Skills & Systems
The skills and systems chart displays the skills and systems scores for each business function. The aim is to demonstrate whether you are building systems capability to support the skills of your team within a business function.
Ideally skills lead systems but by no more than 10%. When this is the case, it points to healthy leadership in that skills investment and growth is leading investment in systems.
Functions for Focus
Functions for Focus displays the value of focusing and improving in a business function. It is calculated as the difference between what adds value if done well and what is done well now.
A larger score demonstrates higher value in that business function. Put another way, if that business function was improved it would translate to more value to the business.
Well then, swell then... now you know what the scores mean.
